Why the name Bumbar (Bumblebee)?

Before it became the company it is today, Bumbar was the name of a caffe and restaurant in Rakitje in Sveta Nedelja. The restaurant’s manager and one of the company’s founders, Andrija Horvatinović, was nicknamed Bumbar (Bumblebee), and the name stuck.

What exactly is your assortment?

For the most part we deal in glass packaging, meaning glass bottles and jars with their assorted corks, closures and shrink capsules. We also have drinking glasses on offer, as well as certain other glass products, such as glass ashtrays, ice buckets etc. In addition, we keep glass packaging accessories, such as bottle fillers, cappers, wine servers and wine cellar wax. Ultimately, we have our gift program, consisting of a range of paper and plastic giftbags and giftboxes for presenting or giving out your products.

Why are the products not delineated by their purpose (e.g., for wine, for spirits...)?

Although there are ‘best practices’ regarding which glass bottle is used for what purpose (e.g., the Marasca model is usually used for olive oil), in our line of work we’ve noticed that our clients are often creative and think outside the box when it comes to pairing fillings and packaging. When we show you our products, we don’t want to produce any preconceptions as to their use but give our clients an opportunity to decide for themselves. If you need any advice, feel free to reach out and we will be happy to help you with a selection that’s in line with your wants and needs.

Is the price of closures and corks included in the price?

No, unless specifically stated otherwise (e.g., "Jar TK 150 with closure”). Every product has a list of compatible closures and corks attached, although you can always buy closures and corks separately if that suits you.

Why are product images symbolic, and why are minor deviations in color and dimensions possible?

Even though it’s the same product made from the same mold every time, no production batch is identical; there is a possibility of slight differences between the final dimensions and glass color between various batches.

Can I buy one piece at a time?

In our brick-and-mortar shop, in 1 Bumbarov put, Novaki, Sveta Nedelja, Croatia, you can buy any quantity of any product. If buying by delivery, the only possibility is to buy transport packages of product.

How many of the product does one transport packaging have?

The quantity of all transport packaging is displayed in each separate product page. The quantities vary from product to product; a general rule of thumb is the larger the product, the lesser the quantity. Transport packaging quantities are aimed to maximize transport security and reduce breakage.

What payment options are there?

In our brick-and-mortar shop you can pay in cash, cards (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Diners) and by other established payment processors (e.g., Apple Pay). When ordering online, payment is possible by payment upfront or cash on delivery.

How does delivery work?

We deliver through courier services. Every bottle and jar model has their respective transport packaging which is stated on its product page – delivery is possible only in these transport packages. Cost of delivery depends on the location of delivery and weight of the package; we do our best to make arrangements that save costs for our clients and therefore we calculate costs individually for every inquiry and/or order.

What if the glass breaks in transit?

Unfortunately, despite our effort to secure the glass, breakage is always a possibility. If you have been delivered a package and you notice that there has been breakage, we kindly ask that you accept the delivery and contact us for further arrangements.

I remember you having a certain product, and now it’s gone!

Once we acquire and display a certain product, we aim to achieve stable inventory of said product. Unfortunately, this is not always possible and there is a chance that a certain product will be discontinued, in which case we will not be able to have it in stock once our supply runs out. We are aware that such an occurrence can lead to added costs such as designing and printing new labels, loss of branding etc. We are always available to consult on finding an alternative to the product you have used thus far.

None of the products are what I need!

If you’re interested in a certain product and we don’t have it in stock, we are available to consult on finding a suitable alternative that will fit your needs.
